Seasonality is a common feature of economic data, and understanding it is important to judge what the data are telling us.

Seasonal adjustment methodologies have been developed to remove predictable patterns to reveal the underlying trends and cycles.

When is seasonal adjustment appropriate to use in your analysis of economic data?  What are the best methods?  What are the pitfalls and challenges in analyzing seasonal and seasonally adjusted data?
